Once ignited, 20% of its creator fees go to the Starlight Fund, which pays for a real telescope photo of Fomalhaut.

#18 brightest in our sky; really 1.8× Sun. About the size of the Sun. It looks bright mainly because it’s close: just 25.1 light years away.

Fomalhaut and the Sun, true relative size.

The dust ring around Fomalhaut. Telescope photo by NASA/Hubble, Public domain, source. Archive image, not a Starlight Fund observation.

Sources: IAU WGSN name, HYG database, HIP 113368. Width is derived from luminosity and temperature, so it is approximate.
